he waws a good, comical president. Though he does seeem to resemble Bush a bit.
Re: Ronald Reagan vs. Anybody?
Man, these new Republicans are war-mongers. Old-school Republicans were the isolationist party. In the recent years the Democrats have switched stances with the Republicans as far as war is concerned. Reagan was into National Defense spending, but he wasn't like OMG lets attack the Soviets! Bush is too much of a warrior for me. We ought to focus on ourselves, as Gordon Gekko says, "Greed is good".

Re: Ronald Reagan vs. Anybody?
i didn't really mean in policy. I was pointing out the irony that he is the man when both he and bush are comical when it comes to their social stance.
Re: Ronald Reagan vs. Anybody?
Well Reagan was an actor. I think he meant to do that stuff that he did. I don't think Bush intentionally means to do half of the things that people think are funny.

reagon= the man any challengers?
ok the premise behine the awesomenesss of reagan was that he cut domestic spending (yay!!), i.e. wellfare, AFDC and TANF, basically all your programs built for free-loaders, and cut taxes to help the middle and biggest class grow and prosper (YAY-er) in what we call the "trickle-down" effect, and if you wanna get technical, call it supply-side economics. he focused his attention on defense spending which, may or may notbe considered liberal or republican. some say it is war-monging, and it can be argued that it brought about jobs which replaced the free-loader programs. Why is he the man? ok so instead of hand outs he brought about jobs through defense spending, he got us out of the the biggest recession, other than the infamous Gread Depression, he totally made "reaganomics" kick ass, brought about a stronger defense, and he is a TRUE republican, as he FINALLY shrunk the monstrosity that was the size of our government. now in response, i don't think that Bush is like Reagon, b/c as you can see, we are now IN a recession.
however i will concede to the fact that he sort of tries to emulate reagon (unsuccessfully of course) i mean, really who ever heard of the GOVERNMENT putting money in the hands of its citizens (stimulus package)!! it's basically a welfare for the whole country and very non-laissez faire. personally i'm a believer of self responsibility.
Also, Bush has expanded the government, i mean some HAD TO HAPPEN. after
9/11, the intelligence dept had to expand, as Clinton nearly killed it before.
Side note: Clinton nearly killed the intelligence dept, cutting funding, and expanded socialistic programs. this could be used to argue as to why 9/11 was not prevented, however i will not go into that.
ok so after 9/11 bush expands the government into a mass bureaucracy, but hey he had to.... but wtf with nclb (no child left behind, for all those who are acronym challenged)
this is not only highly lame of a program, but unconstitutional... anyone remember the little old... 10th am, if the civil war already killed that bad boy, why must we rub it in?
so Bush is nothing like Reagon... ok? anyone who says different is insulting Reagan.
